In my Windows Sound settings -> Speakers Properties -> Advanced-tab I have the Default Format set to 24 bit, 192000 Hz (Studio Quality), this tests fine with the Test-button there and works fine with every game I have installed on my computer (and that's close to a hundred different games, old and new), except the System Shock Pre-Alpha Demo where I get just garbled sound shortly after starting to play. A couple of weeks ago when I first tried the Pre-Alpha Demo I had weird sound problems, and now today I finally looked around a bit more to see what could be causing it (only System Shock Pre-Alpha Demo was giving me garbled/constant noise-sound, when no other game or program on my PC did the same).Īfter looking around a little bit, I noticed this:
